Two Peas in a Pod

I honestly think that me and Mel are twins and were separated at birth lol I love having her come and stay and this year was no different. Although it was shorter that normal we made just as many good memories between going to Big Piney, Bear Lake, the fair and most of the time Amori's house! Amori's cousin Brennin is here for the summer so we became great friends with him and spent a lot of our time as a four some. When we went to the demolition derby which was packed!! There was not a single seat open and people we standing along the fence. With our great skill and agility we managed to find a seat on the stage with the band Quick Sand who were providing live music. They were a lot of fun and had us get up and party with them continually. I'm pretty sure the only reason they invited us to sit on the stage with them was so that they could have a home town group of hicks explain to them why in the world so many people turn out for thing kind of thing. It really got interesting when the Fun Run came around and it came down to 2 teams who had to fist fight it out.. try explaining to them that this was ok and completely legal and part of the rules lol. Other than that we all of course had to make the famous midnight Maverick ice cream runs and just spend time together!

Me, Mel, Bryce, Brad and the band Quick Sand! Ya, were on a first name basis with them now lol

If Mom only knew...

I title it this because I don't really think Mom thought it through when she agreed to let Melanie and Me drive over to visit Perri and go to the Uncle Kracker concert in Big Piney. I must be a better kid than I thought because she let us go lol. The drive over was beautiful and we successfully made it without getting lost ( hard to believe considering the whole whopping 2 right turns we had to make right? ) We just hung out at the fair for the first day and that night we went to a barn dance that was held in the parking lot. It was so much fun and we fit right in with all of Perri's friends which was really nice. The next day we got a tour of Big Piney and the ranch that Perri's Grandparents and Uncles own. We drove up to Middle Piney Lake and of course took some pictures. When we were on our trip Perri found out that the Labarge fire was about to destroy the family cabin that her Grandfather had built. While in the process of her having a melt down and me trying to keep her calm and praying we got the news that the fire had just barely missed her cabin and only the back fence had been slightly burnt. What a testament of faith right? So when we were taking the tour of the ranch she took us up to the cabin. What a family legacy! Everything in there was either shot, killed, trapped, painted, sewn or hand built by a family member! No wonder she was having a panic attack! I cant get the pictures off my phone but as soon as I figure out how to do it, I'll put them on. We went to the Uncle Kracker concert that night and found our new group of friends. It was in their indoor arena and just like a small town there weren't that many people there. The parents and older people had their camp chairs in the middle of the arena and they had bleachers behind them. They only left a small amount of room for people to stand in front but we found room literally touching the front fence next to the stage! The opening act was Gwen Sebastian off of The Voice and she was super good but Uncle Kracker rocked! We stayed at the front for a while then we shifted about four rows back to get in a crazy mosh pit with all of her friends. All I can say is that we all came out of there being very good friends and really sweaty lol. After the concert we headed to where all of her friends horse trailers were to hang out for a while. Most of them were selling their steers the next day for 4H so of course they had all the trucks backed up and couches and bean bags piled up in a big circle. We made so many new friends and had a great time! So now that you've heard my life spiel for that weekend, I'll show the pictures lol.
